A sports club manager who stole more than £130,000 from his employers is facing jail.

Daniel Enaholo, 46, used his position as general manager at west London’s Paddington Sports Club to swindle the money between July 2015 and December 2019.

Enaholo admitted fraud by abuse of position last month and was due to be sentenced at Southwark Crown Court today (mon) but a judge ordered reports.

Leila Nahaboo, prosecuting, said: ‘The defendant had submitted extra payments detailed as manager overtime or holiday pay. These were unauthorised and breached his employment contract.’

Enaholo also made credit card refund payments to his own account.

‘The Crown says he did abuse his position by making a gain for himself and the club did make a loss,’ said Ms Nahaboo.

After police began investigating the fraud Enaholo repaid £24,000 to the club ‘as he wanted to put things right’.

Enaholo, of Hopefield Avenue, Queen’s Park, northwest London, admitted fraud by abuse of position.

The judge, Mr Recorder David Jeremy, QC, bailed Enaholo until 14 March while a pre-sentence report is prepared.
