Travel agent’s ‘£560k scam’

A travel agent fleeced a luxury holiday company out of £560,000 by paying customer refunds into her own account, a court heard. Carolyn Braithwaite, 44, allegedly defrauded Arriva Europe Limited, a luxury holiday firm, between October 2018 and February 2021. Braithwaite appeared at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court speaking to confirm her name and date of birth. She is charged with one count of fraud by false representation.
