Social worker struck off after sledgehammer threat

A social worker who suggested hitting a vulnerable patient with a sledgehammer and locking her in a padded room if she became dangerous has been thrown out of the profession. Gawain Minney made the comments to the woman’s carer in a meeting while working as an agency social worker for Staffordshire County Council on August 19 2016.
