MOORES: DEATH DRIVER’S APPEAL FAILS
A drunk driver who was jailed for killing a Hampshire motorcyclist in a horrific motorway smash today failed in an appeal against her prison sentence.
Wayne Moores, 28, died after suffering a broken neck when his motorcycle was hit by Donna Elizabeth Hackett’s Astra on the M4 last September.
In April, after she pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving, Hackett, 26, of Radnor Street, Swindon, was jailed for six years at Swindon Crown Court.
Today, she was back in court again as her lawyers launched a Court of Appeal challenge to the sentence, but had her case kicked out in less than half-an-hour by three senior judges.
