Sweetshop gunman gets 12

A gunman who held up a sweetshop has been jailed for 12 years. Darren O’Shea, 45, pointed his gas-powered pistol at staff at the store in Charlton, southeast London, and demanded they empty the register, on 18 July last year. But a shop assistant pressed the panic button and he fled empty handed. Five days earlier, he stormed a Co-op in Westhorne Avenue at 9.05pm and made off with £300 after threatening staff at gunpoint.
