Tech boss ‘assaulted woman as she filled the dishwasher’
A millionaire tech investor has denied sexually assaulting a woman as she put plates in a dishwasher.
Stefan Glänzer, 60, allegedly pushed himself against the woman’s buttocks at an address in Notting Hill, west London, on 9 June 2021, Isleworth crown court heard.
The German-born entrepreneur is a co-founder of Passion Capital, one of the country’s leading tech investors.
Passion’s venture capital investments include the app-based bank Monzo and the insurance startup Marshmallow.
Glänzer, of Kensington Park Gardens, denied one count of sexual assault.
Judge Karen Holt told Glänzer: ‘Your case has been fixed for trial on 27 March next year.
‘There will be a hearing on 27 February four weeks before which you need not attend.’
He was granted unconditional bail ahead of a plea and trial preparation hearing on 12 May.
The Met Police earlier said in a statement: ‘Stefan Glänzer, 60, of Kensington Park Gardens, W11, was arrested in September 2021 following an allegation made to police in June of the same year.
‘On Monday, 7 March he was charged by postal requisition with one count of sexual assault by touching.’
In a statement released last month Passion Capital said it was ‘removing his involvement and membership in all Passion entities that he held from his previous role’ and would seek to limit his financial rewards.
Passion Capital is led by American venture capitalist Eileen Burbidge, who was Boris Johnson’s digital adviser when he was mayor of London.
