Algerian Rolex Ripper tried to grab £250,000 watch
An Algerian ‘Rolex Ripper’ who tried to snatch a watch worth a quarter of a million pounds in London’s clubland is facing jail.
Brahim Keddad, 29, tried to rob Sun Tao of a £250,000 Richard Mille watch on Bury Street, St James, on 30 April.
Keddad, of Seven Sisters Road, Islington, pleaded guilty to one count of attempted robbery at Southwark Crown Court.
Aided by a French interpreter he said: ‘Guilty, and I am sorry for it.’
His sentencing was adjourned to 26 June.
Dami Oyedepo, prosecuting, said: ‘It transpires that he does have some convictions in other jurisdictions. We are unsure what they are at the moment.’
‘I would ask for four weeks, your honour.’
Judge Tony Baumgartner said: ‘I shall adjourn the sentence until 26 June. The defendant will remain in custody.’
