Baby died in flat smeared with faeces yards from a doctor’s surgery

A mother allowed her child to die in her own urine from a disease that could be treated at the doctor’s surgery down the road, a court heard. Fartun Jamal, 25, lived in abject squalor with her 11-month-old daughter Nafahat Diini and only called an ambulance when the baby stopped breathing on 13 March 2019.
