Ban for nurse who claimed she nicked drugs for ‘back pain’

An operating department practitioner who helped herself to powerful painkillers to help ease her back pain has been suspended for 12 months. Rebecca Overton-Apleebee self-administered codeine phosphate, then falsified controlled drugs records to cover her tracks, the Health and Care Professions Council heard.
