Cops ‘lied about khat chat’

Two police officers fabricated witness statements ‘to row themselves away from trouble’ after they lied about a suspect driving under the influence of khat, a court heard. Andrew Holdaway, 35, and John Murphy, 48, allegedly tried to frame Mohammed Qasem by claiming he spat the stimulant into a testing bag on the roadside by Heathrow airport, jurors heard.
