Death driver ‘may have been staring into space’

A driver accused of crushing a 13-year-old girl to against another car is claiming she may have blacked out at the wheel after doctors missed her epilepsy symptoms. Gardene De Carvalho, 41, killed Victoria Carson in a Fiat 500 near the schoolgirl’s home in Longmore Avenue, Barnet, at 9.35pm on June 29, Wood Green Crown Court heard.
