Decoy snared groomer

A child sex offender was lured into sexual conversation with a 13-year-old by a decoy, a court heard.

Michele Prokop, 21, tried to meet and sent naked pictures of himself to ‘Elsie’, a fake account created to snare offenders, Highbury magistrates court heard

Prosecutor Fiona Martina said: ‘There is no actual 13-year-old child victim, it was a decoy.
‘Looking at the nature of the messages, they go to the extent of seeking full intercourse and penetration.

‘There is evidence of grooming behaviour. Sexual images have been sent by the defendant to the decoy account as well as planning numerous attempts to meet together.

‘The level of harm should be considered on the sexual activity intended.’

Prokop, of Belzise Road, Camden, pleaded guilty to engaging in sexual communication with a child, attempting to arrange the commission of a child sex offence and possession of cannabis.

He has been granted unconditional bail ahead of sentence at Wood Green Crown Court on a date yet to be decided.
