Two fraudsters raked in hundreds of thousands of pounds by tricking wealthy customers into buying non-existent diamonds, a court heard. Gilbert King, 49, and Stephen Rogers, 55, allegedly fooled investors into purchasing what they thought were coloured diamonds through a sham company called Stockdale Alternative. But company records show that only one diamond was ever purchased on behalf of a client for £10,000 when the actual value of the gemstone was just £750, Southwark Crown Court heard.
