Downing Street ‘bomb hoaxer’ gets bail

A former IT technician accused of placing a rucksack in Downing Street and claiming it contained a bomb was granted bail today (thurs). Toby Champeney, 57, allegedly left the suspicious package near Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s official residence on Tuesday (21). He attempted to ‘provoke a reaction from police’ by claiming there was a bomb inside, Westminster Magistrates’ Court heard.
