Egyptian man denies smuggling thousands of migrants

An Egyptian man today (mon) denied masterminding the smuggling of thousands of migrants from North Africa to Europe. Ahmed Ebid, 40, is accused of organising illegal boat crossings from Libya to Italy from his London home between 3 October 2022 and 21 June this year. Edid denied one charge of conspiracy to facilitate the commission of a breach of UK immigration law.
