Hall of residence killer in court

An alleged killer charged with murdering his girlfriend in her halls of residence has appeared in court. Maher Maaroufe, 23, had been in a relationship with City University psychology undergraduate Sabita Thanwani, 19, before the killing in Clerkenwell, central London.
