A Romanian labourer who stripped a grandmother naked before battering her to death with a wooden club embedded with nails has been jailed for more than 23 years. Valentin Lazar, 21, battered and strangled Maria Rawlings, 45, after following her from the EL3 double decker in Romford, east London, late on May 3 last year.
