Snelling: Bank worker accused of £17,000 cheque scam

finney2A Barclays bank worker accused of making £17,000 worth of cheques payable to herself appeared at the Old Bailey today (Mon).

Lorna Snelling, 38, allegedly swiped five cheques while working in the bank’s accounts department.

Prosecutors say she then made them payable to herself before cashing the cheques to make £16,926 between July and September last year.

Snelling is also accused of defrauding around £4,000 while working in the accounts department of insurance agency Beazley.
