‘I lied because I was terrified’

A sex worker lied about a pair of earrings allegedly stolen in the £25m raid at Tamara Ecclestone’s mansion because she was ‘terrified’, a court heard. Maria Mester, 47, is accused of being one of the ‘supporting cast’ for the burglars who had travelled from Italy to break into celebrities’ homes last December. Mester, her barman son Emil Bogdan Savastru, 30, along with security worker Sorin Marcovici, 53, and hotel concierge Alexandru Stan, 49, all deny involvement in the raids….
