‘Knifeman narrowly escaped being shot’

A mentally ill man accused of charging at armed police officers with a kitchen knife at Horse Guards Parade narrowly escaped being shot, a court heard. Prashanth Kandhaiah, 29, was allegedly brandishing a blade when he was confronted by two Ministry of Defence Police officers at around 8.50am on Easter Monday.
