Lawyer ‘concealed cash’ in banker’s scam

A solicitor hid the proceeds of a multi-million loan scam for corrupt bankers who blew a fortune on ‘luxurious foreign travel and high-class escorts’, a court heard. Roger Hawes, 56, socialised with crooked investment banker David Mills and holidayed on Mills’ 30-metre yacht named ‘The Powder Monkey.’ Jurors were also shown photos of Hawes celebrating Mills’ wife’s 40th birthday in Barbados. Hawes allegedly helped conceal cash for senior HBOS official Lynden Scourfield, 55, and his associates between 2003 and 2010….
