Let-off for the box stabber

A knifeman who drunkenly stabbed a cardboard box in front of a baby before police tasered him down has been spared jail. Terrified passers-by watched Damien Byrne, 42, slashing the packaging to pieces before fleeing from the scene in Shirland Road, west London, on 17 March.
