Let-off for the tome raider

A tome raider who swiped a rare first edition worth £2,000 and tried to sell it to a friend of the owner has been spared jail. Colin Lynn, 48, stole a signed 1949 edition of ‘The Sheltering Sky’ by American author Paul Bowles from Peter Harrington’s rare bookshop in Mayfair.
