Lord Brocket faces two year wait for assault trial
Former ‘I’m a Celebrity’ contestant Lord Brocket will have wait more than two years for his assault trial.
Charles Nall-Cain Brocket, 73, allegedly carried out three serious offences against the same woman between May 5 and August 10 this year.
The complainant claims she was given a cup of tea containing ‘two tablets’ by Brocket before the first alleged offence in the village of Warbleton, East Sussex, on May 5.
The celebrity peer is accused of raping the woman twice during the early of hours of August 10 in Fulham, southwest London.

Wearing a dark grey suit with a white shirt Lord Brocket appeared in the dock at Isleworth Crown Court speaking only to confirm his personal details.
He entered no pleas to two counts of rape and one count of assault by penetration.
Crispin Aylett, KC, defending Brocket, asked for more time to ‘to take the leisure to get the defendant’s full account’, but indicated that Brocket will plead not guilty to all charges.
Judge Martin Edmunds KC varied Brocket’s conditional bail, removing his GPS tag, but banning him from entering the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham.
Judge Edmunds said: ‘This defendant is charged with serious offences.’
He told Brocket: ‘I have made arrangements for your trial to take place. I apologise to all concerned that it is so far in the future.
‘We seek to prioritise cases with high human cost including sexual offences such as this.
‘But the combination of our backlog, the increase of cases, and the increased proportion of cases in custody means we are unable to accommodate earlier trial dates.
‘If you fail to attend that is a separate offence. If you fail to attend it may well take place in your absence.’
Lord Brocket will return to Isleworth Crown Court to enter his pleas on January 9 next year and his trial date was set for November 1, 2027.
The trial is expected to last seven days.
Lord Brocket was beaten to the I’m A Celeb final by Peter Andre, Jennie Bond and winner Kerry Katona in 2004.
He later hosted ITV game show Scream! If You Want To Get Of, and Bad Lads Army spin off programme Privates Exposed.
At 15, he became the 3rd Baron Brocket following the death of his grandfather, Arthur Nall-Cain, 2nd Baron Brocket, also inheriting Brocket Hall in Hertfordshire.
Lord Brocket is an Old Etonian and served in the 14th/20th King’s Hussars as a Lieutenant in Germany.
He became known as a playboy and, in the 1980s and early 1990s, for his collection of classic cars, once owning forty-two Ferraris.
