Malaysian tourist jailed for part in Harrods tax scam

  A Malaysian tourist who helped rip off the taxman in a massive scam involving designer goods bought from Harrods was jailed for 16 months. Lokewan Wong, 27, filed 75 false claim forms on £250,000 worth of luxury items in what was described as a ‘high-level sophisticated operation’. Wong claimed £48,416.57 back in VAT on purchases of goods from the world famous department store by depositing fraudulent claim forms at airports.
