Midwife struck off

A midwife who failed to take appropriate steps when a mother told her she was thinking of killing her five-month-old baby has been struck off. Julie Fairless was working as a health visitor in Darlington when the patient threatened to kill her child during February 2010. Fairless failed to initiate the relevant safeguarding procedures or to inform anyone of the mother’s plans.
