Midwife had to be told to turn on oxygen mask

A midwife ‘didn’t have a clue’ what to do as a baby gasped for breath, a tribunal heard. Esther Mbakwe allegedly failed to act as the infant struggled to breathe while working a shift for Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in September 2015. A junior colleague had to tell Mbakwe to turn on the baby’s oxygen mask, the Nursing and Midwifery Council heard.
