Murdered outside Clapham bar at 4am
An alleged killer has appeared in court charged with murder after a man was found dying from stab wounds outside a hospital.
Abraham Kallon, 24, was found by police outside Kings College Hospital in Denmark Hill, southeast London, in the early hours of December 10.
The officers gave Mr Kallon first aid and called for medical help but nothing could be done to save him. A postmortem gave cause of death as stab injuries.
Justice Beckford, 22, appeared at the Old Bailey via video link from HMP Wandsworth charged with murder.
He was arrested on December 18.
Prosecutor Jane Osborne, KC, said the incident took place outside a bar on Clapham High Street.
She said: ‘On 9 December the previous evening Mr Kallon and his friend Abraham Frazer had been at a bar in Clapham.
‘They began to talk to some females and at 4am the group with some of the girls went to his car which was parked close by.
‘Whilst sat talking one of females saw someone they knew across Clapham high street.
‘The young women having left the car, Mr Frazer and Mr Kallon decided to drive over to the group of men and women on the other side of road.
‘They pulled alongside and spoke through window.
‘The females were speaking with Kallon and Frazer but the males in the group were hostile asking why they were there and what they were doing.
‘After a short period of time, less than three minutes, the men within the group began to get aggressive, one came very close to the passenger side window and seemingly punched towards Abraham Kallon’s chest.
‘He said he thought he’d been stabbed and blood was seen coming through his chest.’
Mr Frazer drove the car to Kings College Hospital. By the time they got there Mr Kallon had no pulse, and his life was pronounced extinct at 5.53am.
Bespectacled Beckford was remanded in custody ahead of a plea and trial preparation hearing on 8 March, while his trial was set for 30 October
