Nicked on journey to Syria

  A Somali-born terror suspect who was arrested as he allegedly began a journey to join Islamic State in Syria has appeared in court. Aweys Faqey, 37, was detained by counter-terror officers at Stansted Airport before as he boarded a flight to Turkey on 23 May. Faqey allegedly planned to sneak across the Syrian border to join jihadi fighters after landing in Istanbul.
