Junior Samuel denies three counts of robbery.

Prosecution counsel said: ‘They all involved attacks on women.

They all took place within the same area within a few days of each other.

‘

‘The attacks seemed to involve the targeting of women as they entered lifts or walked up stairwells in three separate blocks of flats in south East London.

‘

‘In one incident, Samuel pinned a woman to the lift floor and partially strangled her,’ the court heard.

The victims are: Ono Makapone, robbed on 13 October at Ladlands house on the Dawson Heights Estate, Louise Barker, robbed on 22 October on the same estate.

He also robbed Sarah Alexander Macdonald on +November 3 on the Lordship Lane estate.

Both Miss Barker and Miss Macdonald were heavily pregnant during the attacks and pinned to the floor of lifts and partially strangled.

All the women are in their late 20s and early 30s.

DC Bob Slee said that police had evidence that Samuel was involved with another five robberies.
