A paramedic was attacked as he treated a teenage girl who had collapsed in the street, a court heard.

Tokunbo Dejonwo, 51, is accused of assaulting Daniel McCarry as he treated the teenager on Harlesden Road, Willesden, on 9 October 2018.

Dejonwo admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour but denied assaulting the paramedic when he appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court.

The incident was filmed by a member of the public and footage is expected to be played at Dejonwo’s trial in March.

Magistrate Garande Bhatt said: ‘In relation to the offence of common assault you have pleaded not guilty and there will be a trial on 11 March at 10am.’

Dejonwo, of The Oaks, Harlesden Road, Brent, Willesden Green, denies common assault and was bailed ahead of his trial.
