Scaffolder ‘assaulted retired cop’ in Winter Wonderland brawl

  A scaffolder knocked off a security man’s hat at Winter Wonderland, then assaulted a retired police officer who intervened, a court heard. Joe Calder, 28, claims he was just being ‘playful’ when his prank caught the eye of former policeman Michael Burgess under the Christmas lights in Hyde Park on 2 December.
