Terror suspect ‘plotted to join ISIS’

A Luton man accused of plotting to run away to Syria to join Islamic State will stand trial in October. Mubashir Jamil, 21, is accused of purchasing a flight to Turkey along with camping equipment to prepare him for life on the front line. Appearing by video link from Wandsworth Prison, Jamil did not speak throughout the brief hearing at the Old Bailey. He faces one charge of preparation of terrorist acts between 1 November 2015 and 28 April 2016….
