Trial for woman accused of smothering mum with pillow

A woman accused of poisoning her mother with insulin before smothering her to death with a pillow will stand trial in April next year. Shirley D’Silva, 55, is is charged with the murder of Martha Pereira, 77, at their home in Croydon, south London. Mrs Pereira was found dead at the address in Morland Road after D’Silva dialled 999 on 25 October.
