Victory for airport expansion campaigners

Campaigners trying to block the Heathrow expansion won their High Court challenge against plans for a third runway – because the government has ignored climate change fears. Greenpeace and Friends of the Earth were among the environmental campaigners who challenged the proposed expansion given the go-ahead in June 2018.
