‘Walking stick killer left handle embedded in victim’s neck’

A care home resident accused of beating a 93-year-old woman to death with a walking stick was remanded in court today (thus). Alexander Rawson, 62, hit Eileen Dean so hard he left the handle of the stick embedded in her neck, it is said. Police are unclear what the motive was and there was no CCTV footage of the attack at the Fieldside care home in Catford, southeast London.
