‘Want to learn English? Work in our cafe for 15 hours a day’

A couple forced a student to work in their Tube station cafe for two years claiming it would help her learn English, a court heard. Lina Thakrar, 51, and Praful Thakrar, 54, allegedly made the student slave for up to 15 hours a day in the Espresso cafe on the Jubilee Line concourse at Stratford Station.
