25 years for ‘pointless murder’

A grieving mother has said her heart will be broken forever after a killer was jailed for at least 25 years for the ‘savage, gratuitous and pointless’ murder of her son. Cheyon Evans, 18, was heard ‘screaming and crying’ as Fernando Pope, 21, plunged a butcher’s knife through his heart on the Aboyne Estate in Wandsworth, last 14 June.
