Tory donor accused of bribing Antiguan government minister

A billionaire has appeared in court charged with bribing an Antiguan government minister. Property mogul Peter Singh Virdee, 50, is accused of paying off Antiguan politician Asot Michael, between 1 January 2015 and 26 July 2017. The flamboyant Sikh tycoon and Conservatives donor has posed in photos with celebrities including footballer Mesut Özil, pop star Rihanna and even the Queen.
