A man accused of murdering an Aids sufferer after luring him
into a sado-masochistic game now faces a retrial after the jury
trying him became hopelessly deadlocked.
The jury were discharged from returning a verdict on Stephen
Harvey, 31, after being unable to agree whether he was the one
who beat Mr Alan Bonner, 43, to death.
Mr Bonner was found naked with a ‘noose’ around his neck and
his head wrapped in a shirt in front of his television.
A
pornographic video was found nearby.
Harvey, unemployed of Medway Court, Selhurst Road, South
Norwood, denies murdering Mr Bonner at his home in Nelgarde Road,
Catford, on June 2 last year.
No date has been set for the retrial.
