A romeo van driver faces jail for attacking his girlfriend when she resented him visiting the eight children he had by five different women.
Michael Bryan, 43, met Primrose Harris at her flat to pick up his stereo and car-keys when their relationship came to an end.
After a row, Bryan grabbed the woman round the neck and pulled her to the floor as her 12-year-old daughter looked on in horror.
Bryan pulled handfuls of her hair out and hurled a glass candlestick through the television screen as he stormed out of her home at (6B) County Grove, Camberwell.
Prosecutor Anabel Pilling revealed the argument exploded because of the string of ‘baby mothers’ Bryan had left across south London.
‘Miss Harris felt Bryan spent too much time seeing other women.
He says she wouldn’t let him see his children,’ Miss Pilling told the court.
Judge David Martineau adjourned the case for pre-sentence reports but rejected a call for a conditional discharge, saying all options including custody remained open.
The judge said the attack has had a terrible effect on the 12-year-old eye witness, who has become nervous and frightened of going out.
He recalled little Jade’s evidence that ‘Bryan was a nice man who had another side to him.
‘
Judge Martineau added: ‘It must have been very frightening to see her own mother treated like this by somebody who was effectively her step father.
‘
Bryan, of (71) Thomas Hardy House, Wood Green was found guilty of causing actual bodily harm to Miss Harris, by the jury.
He was cleared of stealing a gold bracelet and causing actual bodily harm to her daughter Jade during the attack on December 17, 1999.
He will be sentenced on August 23.
