In an unusual step, oddball Darby asked to address
In an unusual step, oddball Darby asked to address the court through his defence counsel over his ‘sincere and profound remorse’.
He also admitted he had ‘serious problems’ and vowed to use his inevitable lengthy jail sentence to reform his sick ways.
‘He has asked me to convey his severer and profound remorse for the hurt and distress he has caused to the victim and the fear he has instilled in the other women he visited,’ said Miss Quincy Whitaker.
‘He would also like to apologise to his friends, family and members of his church who he feels he has acutely let down.
‘Finally he asked me to publicly acknowledge his serious problems and he is committed to using his time in prison to fully resolving these problems.
‘
An application to grant White bail was refused by the judge.
He asked for psychatric reports for both defendants adding: ‘I am obviously very concerned about Mr Darby and the way he has corresponded with Miss White.
‘
He warned Darby he was considering a life sentence ‘to protect the public.
