The alleged instigator in a savage gang murder bla

The alleged instigator in a savage gang murder blamed his three pals for the killing saying they attacked the victim like ‘they were from another planet’, the Old Bailey heard today.

Stephen Parsons, 22, claimed stranger Darren Gardner, 35, had asked for his teenage girlfriend’s knickers, he told police when arrested for murder.

The cheeky jibe was made in an Indian restaurant where the victim had ‘tagged along’ with the group after meeting in a pub.

Parsons told police how his friends Michael Hann, , Donald Murtagh, , and Daniel Hall, , lured the landscape gardener to a secluded beauty spot to punish him.

They punched and kicked the defenceless victim repeatedly and even tried to drown him, Parsons said.

The alleged murderer maintained he only ever pushed Mr Gardner and did not cause any of his fatal injuries, jurors heard.
