Pervert in the bog at McDonalds

A little boy thinks he will be seen every times he changes clothes after he and his mother fell victim to a pervert in a McDonalds toilet.

Asere Shumba, 24, spent half an hour peeping in Richmond branch of the burger bar, Westminster Magistrates Court heard.

‘He did not purchase anything to eat or drink but went straight to the toilets on the first floor,’ said prosecutor Corran Helme.

‘Once there he loitered outside for a moment before heading into the male toilets.

‘A few seconds later he exited then entered into the female toilets.

‘According to the CCTV footage the defendant was in the female toilets for approximately 30 minutes. During this time several unidentified females entered the toilet.

‘The main complainant enters the toilet with her young son. She was in the toilet she was with her son in the cubicle.

‘Whilst using the toilet she notices a phone and screams, causing the defendant to run out the toilet room and out of McDonalds.

‘The main complainant has given a victim impact statement. She says: ‘As for my son he is scared to use the toilet in public.

‘When he is at home and getting out his clothes he will say mummy, mummy the naughty people will see me.

‘He’s scared to go out and use public restrooms.

‘This is something as a mother I never wanted to explain.

‘That night he didn’t sleep, I’ve never seen him react like that.

‘I’ve lost trust, I’m very paranoid, I suspect everyone, I feel uncomfortable.

‘I feel there might be a video out there so when people glance at me I think they have seen my image.

‘I haven’t been assaulted but it feels a such. He took something from me which was out of my control.

‘You don’t think this would happen, I’m upset and it brings me to tears which is witnessed by my son. I’m angry and feel violated.’

The sales assistant has already admitted to ‘similar matters,’ the court heard.

Magistrate Richard Jefferson adjourned the case so he could be sentenced for both crimes at the same hearing.

Shumba, of Shakespeare Street, Derby, admitted to one count of observing a person doing a private act for sexual gratification.

He was granted unconditional bail ahead of his next appearance at Derby Crown Court on October 26.
