Barber was breaching restraining order when he murdered nurse, court hears

A barber accused of murdering a nurse who fell to her death from a third-floor window was in breach of a restraining order preventing him from contacting the victim when she died.

Leonidas Georgalla, 50, denied the murder of Kathleen John, 39, in London Road, Wembley, in the early hours of 29 July when he appeared at the Old Bailey today (Weds).

He admitted breaching the order, which was made by Willesden Magistrates a few weeks earlier on May 22.

Emergency services arrived at the address to find Georgalla holding John’s two-year-old child.

Paramedics attempted to revive Ms John, a mother-of-two, but she was pronounced dead at the scene just after 2.22am.

Georgalla, of no fixed address, appeared in court wearing a prison issue grey tracksuit via a videolink from HMP Belmarsh.

He was remanded in custody ahead of an administrative hearing on January 23.

The trial was set for 3 July 2023 and is expected to last two weeks.
