Gangsters jailed for machine gun attack on Abbey Road

Three gangsters who carried out a drive-by shooting on Abbey Road were jailed for a total of 49 years.

Ibrahim Yermark, 30, his brother Youseph Yermack, 27, and Hisham Hassan, 25, went on a ‘hunt’ armed with Škorpion submachine gun in St John’s Wood on 21 September 2024.

They fired at rivals in a Mercedes near the world famous studio where the Beatles made their 11th album. The cover shows the Fab Four crossing the road.

The Yemarks along with Hassan were all found guilty of possession of firearms after a trial at Southwark Crown Corut last November.

Judge Mark Weekes told them: ‘It is purely luck that no one was killed.

He said their ‘highly dangerous and prolonged criminal behaviour obviously could have lasting and devastating consequences.’

Judge Weekes said the men were in a Toyota Yaris with cloned
numberplates when they fired at rivals in an ‘opposing’ Mercedes.

The machine gun came from a ‘stash’ of weapons found at the brothers’ house on the nearby Lisson Grove Estate.

Met officers had also recovered two loaded XDN pistols, a sawn-off shotgun, ammunition along with stab vests and balaclavas, the court heard.

The judge described the haul as a ‘functioning arsenal maintained for use in violent activity.

‘The stash of weapons was available for you to draw on for causing harm.’

Ibrahim Yermack’s DNA was found on the submachine gun trigger, the court heard.

Judge Weekes told Ibrahim: ‘You said you ended gang violence in 2022, I am sceptical about that.’

He was sentenced to 15 years and six months, Youseph was jailed for 14 years and six months.

Hassan, the Toyota driver, was jailed for 15 years and six months with an extended licence period of another 42 months.
