Extremist ‘shared bomb making video’
A right-wing extremist accused of sharing a video on how to make explosives has appeared in court.
Gabriel Budasz, 23, is accused of possession and dissemination of a video entitled ‘You Must Fight Them O Muwahhid’ which related to the making of an explosive and an improvised explosive device.
On or before 31 May this year he shared the video on the encrypted messaging service, Telegram. He posted the video in a channel called ‘The Funny Rubber Room’.
He appeared at the Old Bailey via video link from HMP Wandsworth and spoke only to confirm his name and date of birth.
It was previously said that the alleged offences were linked to ‘an extreme right-wing ideology’.
His arrest followed an investigation by Counter Terrorism Policing South East, Avon and Somerset Police and Counter Terrorism Policing South West.
Budasz, of Drove Road, Weston-super-Mare, Somerset, was remanded in custody ahead of a plea and trial preparation hearing at Winchester Crown Court on 24 November this year.
His trial will commence at the same court on 5 February 2024.
