A former BA flight attendant who invented medical emergencies to make bogus travel insurance claims has been spared jail. Cormac McCollum, 26, tried to fleece Direct Line Group out of more than £20,000 by claiming payouts for medical treatment in the USA while on holiday. McCollum also attempted to scam Direct Line by putting in false claims on his travel insurance for his and his father’s fake medical expenses.
