Forensic scentist ‘jeopardised rape cases’

A bungling Met Police forensic scientist jeopardised investigations into five rape cases, a court heard today (mon). Ursula Collins, 43, allegedly misled detectives by giving them inaccurate information including DNA analysis, after failing to do her job properly. She faces eight charges of misconduct by failing to compare DNA profiles with the national databases and report the results to the officer in the case, between 2009 and 2018.
