Former Barnsley assistant manager must wait a year to stand trial

The former assistant manager of Barnsley FC and two agents must wait a year to stand trial on bribery charges after a newspaper investigation into corruption in the game. Former Middlesbrough and Leeds winger Tommy Wright, 52, is said to have accepted a £5,000 cash bung in a meeting with undercover journalists in the Daily Telegraph probe in 2016.
